WAI hosts improv show:
To raise money for victims of the earthquake in Haiti, Water Aid International (WAI) hosted the event “WAI Funny” on Friday, Jan. 22. The proceeds went toward supplying water for victims. The event, held in South’s Seasholes Auditorium, featured performances by improv comedy groups from South, North, Boston College and Boston University.
Turn Around sponsors drive:
To help fight teen homelessness, South’s Turn Around program teamed up with the clothing store Aeropostale and dosomething.org and hosted a jean drive. The pairs of new and gently-used jeans will be donated to homeless teenagers in the US and Canada. Boxes for the jeans will located outside each house office until Feb. 11.
Library gains new staff member:
With Library Department Head Dorothy McQuillan leaving for the China Exchange trip on Jan. 31, the library staff will gain a new member, Mary Ann Rogers. Rogers, who will work part time, begins her tenure on Feb. 1.
