On Sept. 15, the primaries for the mayoral election will be held from seven a.m. to eight p.m. The candidates are Ruth Balser, Paul Coletti, Bill Heck, Ken Parker and Setti warren. The eventual winner of the mayoral election will replace current mayor David Cohen, who has served for over a decade. The next mayor will inherit issues such as the Newton North High School building project, managing the struggling city budget and appointing a new superintendent.
