Q: What was your favorite childhood TV show?

A: Superman

Q: What’s the first word that comes to mind to describe yourself?

A: Genuine, because I say what I mean, I don’t lie, I don’t like to lie and if I don’t like something, I’ll say I don’t like something and I’ll say it properly.

Q: Which aspect of South needs to be changed most?

A: The school is very competitive and I think it’s great that every kid is trying to be the best … [but] kids have lost that sense of community in high school. It’s gotten to the point where Newton South is more of an institution where kids come to learn and then go home every day … where school should actually be like a second home.

Q: How would you describe the class of 2011?

A: I think our class has an incredible amount of spirit, and I think that, while there are cliques in every grade, I think that our class has this kind of bind. We’re not like that typical high school class where you have the jocks and the preps and the different social groups that everybody likes to stick by. Sure, everybody has their cliques, but they’re not bound by them at all, and they’re almost irrelevant. Everybody … has that thing that they’re really good at … something that they’re passionate about. Nobody in our grade is willing to compromise who they are as a person to move up a social ladder, because our class doesn’t really have a social ladder.

Q: N’Synch or Backstreet Boys?

A: Backstreet Boys, definitely.

Q: If you could go out to dinner with anyone from any time period, who would it be?

A: I want to say Barack Obama. Also, Michael Jackson in the Thriller days of Michael Jackson. AND Superman.

Q: Who is your biggest inspiration?

A: “When I was a kid, I used to wish I was superman. He could save the day; he was the best. I’ve always wanted to be the best, and nobody’s perfect, but he’s the closest thing to it and tha’s what I strive to be. Also, Amrita Rao. She’s like my older sister. I’m really grateful for all the opportunities she’s given me. She’s really guided me through high school.

Q: What is your favorite Disney Pixar movie?

A: Toy Story 1 or the Incredibles

Q: What adjectives would you use to describe yourself?

A: Competitive, president-wise, I want our class to be the dominant class in the school. I wanted our class to win [in pp], I want out clss to be the best. I’m not a perfectionist at all, because I can be a little lazy at times, but I’m definitely competitive. Determined … I can be lazy, but I like to get things done, and I like to get them done well. Anything involving the class, I like to put 100% of my effort in. It’s the thing like, you either do it well or you don’t do it at all.
