Under the new bill:
Drivers will not be allowed to compose, send, or read message while operating a vehicle.
Drivers may text only if their vehicle is stationary and out of the way of other traffic.
Drivers wil not be allowed to use mobile phones or any other device capable of accessing the Internet.
Fines for TWD range from $100 for a first offense to $500 for the third offense.
In instances where texting casues an accident, drivers may go to jail for up to two years.
Drivers under 18 would be banned from cell phone use completely while driving a vehicle.
Violations for underage drivers result in license suspension and fines.
